You’re driving in a city, in a very mediocre, used light blue Toyota Camry with 90k miles on a busy thoroughfare minding your own business. A brand new shiny $350k yellow Ferrari flies past you in an aggressive way beating you out of a green light and causing you to have to stop at the red. Startled, you hit the brakes before you realize what the man in the Ferrari was doing. What’s your response?
A) Lower enlightenment, lower intelligence – You race as fast as you can to the Ferrari… to the next light, roll down your window, give them a very strong middle finger, yell obscenities at the top of your lungs, or even try to obstruct them from going straight without having to back up.
B) Lower enlightenment, higher intelligence – You hope that they hit a tree or total their car for being such arrogant douchebags… or at least that the police stop to give them a speeding ticket with a huge fine.
C) Higher enlightenment, lower intelligence – You say a prayer for their safety and their souls for whatever is making them so aggressive and feel you are doing God’s work.
D) Higher enlightenment, higher intelligence – After being startled but realizing you’re ok, you immediately shift your thinking back to wherever you were. You continue your conversation if you were having one, paying no mind to the path they’re on. You wish them well, but their journey has no effect on yours.
I usually go with D … but sometimes B… though I’ve never seen a Ferrari in person haha 🙂
B. I’m a big fan of instant karma.
Be thankful my coffee had a lid on it and that my brakes had been recently serviced. Karma has a way of reconciling things sooner or later. However I might smile and wave (with all fingers) if I saw him pulled over.

D. I would think about flipping them off but since I have law enforcement in my blood, lI would let them go on doing nothing. This world is a scary place. My friend did that last year in a company vehicle. He was pissed. Stopped and the other guy came running over to him and stabbed him to death leaving a wife and 2 small children. So I told all 3 of my adult sons to never stop nor instigate. It’s not worth it. .
Probably D for the most part…I would have called them a f*cking moron in a slightly elevated tone and I wouldn’t wish them well… but the rest sounds good, lol
E. My response is that this is typical in LA. My thoughts, to myself. I am grateful to drive some of the most exotic, exclusive cars in Los Angeles, with over 200k miles. ( My cars have been paid for in full for many years. I purchased new) This car club is very exclusive, especially in Southern California. At 90k on your Toyota, if you continue, there’s another 150k miles, maybe more. Judging by your description of the Ferrari driver, I pray he kills/injures no one.
Well I usually go with D because I firmly believe that you can’t change other people’s behavior but you can change your reaction to it. But I must admit I’ve been guilty of B a time or two!

Oh man! I just got out of church. CHURCH! Went to Trader Joe’s and in the parking lot was a guy that slowly got in my way TWICE!! ( accidentally on purpose I’m sure of it).. My windows were up but I said YOUR AN ASSHOLE at the top of my lungs. He probably didn’t hear me. But I heard me! When I finally got past him, I reflected immediately. I was a B…. I’d rather be a D but today it felt good to be a B
I actually ignore them , knowing that whatever rush they are in , it will get them there no faster, and more then likely I will see them at the next light.
Today with road rage , you never know what situation could arise by acknowledging the bad driving and confronting them.
As annoying and scary as that happening to anyone of us , best to ignore , let it go, and be on your way .
I tell the boys that all the time , drive defensively, pay attention , and always be aware of your surroundings.

If I have someone else in the car , definitely D but wondering if I will see their car wrapped around a tree further down the road. By myself ? oh A for sure but only in my head then proceed straight to D.
